Bond 2025 Projects Update

Greetings, Wildcat Nation,

It's hard to believe we are already almost two weeks into another school year. Our students are back in classrooms, our teachers and staff are doing what they do best, and there is incredible energy across Splendora ISD.

As we settle into the year, I want to share an update on our 2025 Bond Program and the progress becoming visible across the district.

One of the most noticeable signs is the work underway on the 50 acres north of our football and baseball stadiums. Crews have begun clearing trees and preparing the site for future development, beginning with the Livestock Show Arena. After months of planning and design, it is exciting to see dirt moving.

We are also moving forward with the new Support Services Facility, located off Cox Street north of Old Peach Creek Elementary. Site preparation is underway, and our community will continue to see increased activity as both projects progress.

While our current bonding capacity presents challenges, we remain committed to making financially responsible decisions and being good stewards of taxpayer dollars. Rising homestead exemptions have reduced the taxable values available to support new debt, affecting the timing of some larger projects approved by voters in 2025.

Thanks to strong financial management of our 2022 Bond Program, savings and interest earnings have allowed us to complete much of the architectural and design work for 2025 Bond projects. This positions the district to move more quickly as additional bonding capacity becomes available.

Splendora ISD has experienced tremendous growth over the past five years. Although enrollment growth has leveled somewhat in the short term, long-term projections still indicate significant growth over the next decade. As our community grows and property values increase, we anticipate our bonding capacity will improve, creating opportunities to advance additional voter-approved projects.

I know our community is eager to see progress, and I share that excitement. While some projects will take longer than others, the work has not stopped. Planning continues. Designs are being completed. Sites are being prepared. We are positioning Splendora ISD to move forward as funding becomes available.

Most importantly, we remain committed to responsible stewardship and transparency every step of the way.

Thank you for the trust you place in Splendora ISD and for the tremendous start to this school year. We are not simply planning for Splendora ISD's future; we are beginning to build it.

In your service,
Dr. Dustin Bromley
Superintendent of Schools
