Splendora ISD Named a TAEA District of Distinction for 2025–2026

Out of more than 1,200 eligible school districts in Texas, Splendora ISD is one of only 109 districts to earn this prestigious honor. The award is presented by the Visual Art Administrators of Texas, a division of TAEA, and highlights districts that demonstrate exemplary leadership in promoting visual arts in both their schools and communities.
To receive this recognition, districts must meet a rigorous 14-point rubric that assesses visual arts programs based on factors such as TAEA participation, student exhibitions, contests, community engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and field experiences. Splendora ISD's visual arts program was recognized for exceeding expectations across these areas and for providing impactful, equitable access to visual arts learning at all grade levels.
"This recognition is a reflection of the incredible work happening in classrooms across our district every day," said Superintendent Dr. Dustin Bromley. "Our students continue to excel because of the dedication and talent of our Fine Arts team, led by Dr. Steven Moss. His leadership has helped build a culture where creativity is celebrated, excellence is expected, and every student can discover and develop their artistic talents. We are honored to receive once again this distinction and proud of the students and educators who made it possible."
"This tremendous honor reflects Splendora ISD's commitment to the fine arts as a core part of a well-rounded education," said Fine Arts Director Dr. Steven Moss. "We are proud of the creativity, innovation, and collaboration that our visual arts students and staff inspire every day."
The recognition affirms Splendora ISD's ongoing efforts to support the arts as a vital part of the educational experience, enriching students' academic and social-emotional development.
