New Student Registration for Pre-Kindergarten
Requirements for Pre-Kindergarten Students
In Texas, a child must be four years old by September 1 of the current school year and meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
- Be unable to speak and comprehend the English language.
- Children will be tested to determine their eligibility for this qualification.
- Be educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program [NLSP] or currently in Head Start)
- Guidelines are available on the Texas Department of Agriculture website. Click the “+” under “The following guidelines apply to the CACFP, NLSP, SBP, and SFSP” and follow the July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027 income eligibility guidelines.
- If the child is currently enrolled in the Head Start program, the parent or guardian must provide a signed and dated document from the school district certifying the child's enrollment in the program.
- A parent or guardian must show proof of income, including at least 3 current paycheck stubs.
- current TANF or SNAP eligibility letter with the child’s name listed
- Be the biological, adopted, or stepchild of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority.
- Parent or guardian must present either a Department of Defense identification (DoD card must not be copied)
- a statement of service from the installation adjutant general director of human resources or,
- for the Texas National Guard, an official letter from a commander at or above the lieutenant colonel, or, for the Navy, at the commander level, confirming active or mobilized status
- Be the biological, adopted, or stepchild of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
- A copy of the death certificate using the service-appropriate DoD form or a DoD form that indicates death as the reason for the separation of service
- A signed memorandum from the casualty assistance office stating that the service member was killed in action or died while serving
- A copy of Purple Heart orders or citations for children of service members, mobilized reservists, or guardsmen who were wounded or injured in combat.
- A copy of the line of duty determination for service members, mobilized reservists, or guardsmen who were injured while serving on active duty but were not wounded or injured in combat.
- If this documentation is not available, a copy of an official letter from a commander (at or above the lieutenant colonel, or, for the Navy, at the commander level) that states that the service member was wounded or injured while on active duty is acceptable
- A copy of a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs indicating that the service member has a service-connected disability and is eligible for disability compensation
- Be the biological, adopted, or stepchild of a uniformed service member who is missing in action (MIA).
- Documentation that a service member is MIA for the children of service members who are MIA.
- Has ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas DFPS (foster care) following an adversary hearing.
- Has ever been in foster care in another state or territory, if the child currently resides in Texas.
- Is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award, such as:
- a peace officer under Texas Government Code, §3106.002
- a firefighter under Texas Government Code, §3106.003
- an emergency medical first responder under Texas Government Code, §3106.004
- Be homeless as defined by the McKinney-Vento Act.
- Classroom Teachers: Per Texas House Bill 2, children of full-time classroom teachers are eligible for free Pre-K in the district where the parent is employed.
In addition to the age and eligibility requirements, a child must meet, by the child’s 4th birthday, the Texas Minimum State Vaccine Requirements by Grade-Level, and the family must reside within the Splendora ISD boundaries.
Our District uses Infofinder-i to help families determine their child's school of residence and the location of the nearest bus stop. You can search your address in Infofinder-i or view the Splendora ISD Elementary Attendance Zone Map to determine which elementary campus your child will attend.
Online Registration
Splendora ISD New Student Registration is an entirely online process. All Pre-K students are considered new students; however, the registration option you choose depends on your family's enrollment history with Splendora ISD.
Note: A valid email address is required to register your student. If you do not have a valid email address, you may set up a free email account through services such as Yahoo or Google.
- View the documents required to register your child and upload them during the registration process.
- Review the details for Option 1 and Option 2 and complete the online registration.
- Campus personnel will contact you once everything is complete and let you know when to bring your child to campus for their first day of enrollment.
- If there is an issue with your registration documents, you will receive an email to log in to your Skyward Family Access account to address any needs to complete your registration.
OPTION 1: New to Splendora ISD Family
- Select this option if your family is new to Splendora ISD and you do not have a Skyward Family Access account.
- Using a valid email address, open Skyward Family Access to create an account.
- You will receive an email from DoNotReply@splendoraisd.org with your login information, including your username and password. Add this email address to your valid email recipients to avoid it being sent to your spam folder.
- Once you log in, you will select the appropriate registration to start registering your student.
- If your student is in kindergarten through 12th grade, select 2026-2027 KG - 12 New Student Registration.
- If your student was 4 years old by September 1, 2026, select 2026-2027 Pre-K New Student Registration.
OPTION 2: Existing Family Access User
- Select this option if you already have a Skyward Family Access account, even if you are enrolling a child in Splendora ISD for the first time. This option is for current Splendora ISD families and students who were previously enrolled in the district.
- Log in to your Skyward Family Access account.
- Click the down arrow next to the house icon in the upper left-hand corner and choose "New Student Enrollment."
- If you have forgotten your username or password, click Forgot your Username or Password and enter your email or username.
Create a SchoolCafe Account
Create a SchoolCafé account. While all Splendora ISD students receive free breakfast and lunch, this platform allows parents and guardians to view daily menus, track purchases, set dietary restrictions, and manage payments for additional snack items.
- For existing SchoolCafé users:
- Log in with your SchoolCafé credentials.
- For new users:
- Create a SchoolCafé account
- Click "Need to Create an Account or Contact Us" and follow the on-screen steps.
