Air Force JROTC

Air Force JROTC (AFJROTC) provides citizenship training and an aerospace science program for high school students. Students who enroll in the AFJROTC program are offered a wide variety of curricular and co-curricular activities. The program explores the historic and scientific aspects of aerospace technology and teaches high school students self-reliance, self-discipline, and other leadership characteristics. Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts are also an important part of this world-class program.

  • Level 1 Fundamentals of followership and self-discipline
  • Level 2 Self-improvement and skill development
  • Level 3 Train others and basics of leadership
  • Level 4 Leadership and management of the program

 

Certificates and Degrees

Certificate of Completion:

AFJROTC Form 310, AFJROTC Certificate of Completion, will be awarded to all cadets for successful completion of 3 academic program years of AFJROTC with SASI concurrence.

Enlistment in the Armed Services

Although the AFJROTC program isn’t a recruiting program for the services, should a cadet desire to join a military branch, the cadet is given advanced enlistment at a higher grade, depending on the military branch.

For Air Force Enlistment, the cadet is awarded:

  • 2-year completion of AFJROTC:
    Enlistment Grade E-2 Airman (Note 1)
  • 3-year completion of AFJROTC:
    Enlistment Grade E-3 Airman First Class (Note 1)

College-bound students can compete for an Air Force Academy nomination or an Air Force JROTC scholarship through their AFJROTC unit. Or they may receive credit for the first year of an AFJROTC four-year college program --- plus free uniforms, insignia, and AFJROTC
textbooks.

Flight Academy – selected cadets can receive a $40,000 scholarship to get a pilot’s license while in high school.
