Organizational Changes
Congratulations, Dr. Glenn Barnes! At last night’s Aransas Pass ISD board meeting, Dr. Barnes was officially appointed the new Superintendent of Aransas Pass—a well-deserved recognition. As the former Chief of Leadership and Culture, Dr. Barnes played a pivotal role in supervising and supporting campus principals, Athletics, CTE, and Special Services.
With his departure, we are excited to announce the following organizational changes:
-
Dr. Shane Conklin, our Chief Administration Officer, will expand his responsibilities to include supervising and supporting campus principals and Athletics. This complements his existing duties: Student Services, Counseling, and Human Resources. Dr. Conklin will continue to offer administrative support to Special Services.
-
We are pleased to announce the well-deserved promotion of Carrie Garza to the role of Chief Learning Officer. In her new capacity, Carrie will oversee all facets of the Teaching and Learning department and provide additional administrative support to campus principals and programmatic assistance to Special Services.
-
Dr. Kristy Dietrich has been promoted to the position of Executive Director of Secondary Instruction and Advanced Academics. Dr. Dietrich will now extend her support to CTE and Fine Arts, in addition to overseeing secondary curriculum, Advanced Academics, GT, and Early College.
As Troy Reynolds enters a well-deserved retirement this December, we want to express our gratitude for his dedication. Currently overseeing both Federal Programs and Fine Arts, Mr. Reynold's responsibilities in Fine Arts will transition, as mentioned above, to Dr. Dietrich.
These changes represent an exciting chapter for our District, and we look forward to the continued success and growth of our educational community. We are #CultivatingExceptionalPeople
