Moss named Fine Arts Coordinator
We are excited to announce Steven Moss as our Fine Arts Coordinator!
Steven Moss brings 25 years of distinguished experience as a music educator and fine arts administrator to Splendora ISD. His ensembles have consistently earned top honors, including the UIL Sweepstakes Award, Texas Music Educators Association State Honor Band, UIL State Marching Competition medals, and first place in the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series. His bands have also been National Winners in The Foundation for Music Education’s National Wind Band Festival for three consecutive years.
Under Moss’ administrative leadership, fine arts departments have received the Texas Art Education Association "District of Distinction" and the National Association of Music Merchants "Best Communities for Music Education" awards. They have also achieved state and national successes in various competitions, including UIL State Theatrical Design, TAEA State VASE, and Texas Association of Mariachi Educators.

Moss holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Henderson State University, a Master of Music from Southern Methodist University, and a Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan University. He is a pioneering scholar in the role of Texas Public School Fine Arts Administrator and a member of TMEA, TBA, TMAA, and Phi Beta Mu.
An enthusiastic drum major for nine seasons, Moss shares his leadership expertise through summer workshops. He also enjoys flying, hiking, and working on his ranch in Ruidoso, NM.
