IncubatorEdu@SHS off to a great start!

IncubatorEDU students

The IncubatorEdu@SHS program, led by Ms. Christina Kinard, Entrepreneurial Educator, is off to an exciting start, giving students hands-on opportunities to think and act like entrepreneurs.

Recently, students worked on silencing their VOJ—Voice of Judgment—during brainstorming sessions. By pushing aside fears of failure and societal “norms,” they discovered the power of bold, creative thinking. This exercise helped students understand how often great ideas are dismissed out of fear, and how growth can come from taking risks—even when the first attempt doesn’t succeed.

The class is also focusing on problem discovery, learning to identify challenges people face without rushing to offer solutions. A simple walk through the halls revealed countless opportunities hidden in everyday conversations. These realizations inspired “aha!” moments, as students recognized that the world is full of problems waiting for creative solutions.

Through Unit 1: Ideation and the C4 Process (Creative Explosion), students are energized and engaged—many even calling this the highlight of their day. One student aide remarked, “This is real … what is this class called?” The excitement is spreading across campus, with students already identifying real-world issues, such as challenges with local cell towers, and brainstorming ways to address them.

To add a personal touch, students designed custom binder covers using Canva, giving them a professional skill while taking ownership of their work. By connecting creativity, problem-solving, and real-world application, IncubatorEdu@SHS cultivates not just student ideas but also resilient, forward-thinking leaders.
