Thank you so much for your efforts and support in teaching your children for the past seven weeks during this time of remote learning. You have done an amazing job!
As part of our community-based accountability system, Splendora ISD is committed to providing opportunities to foster engaged, well-rounded students by asking questions such as, “To what degree are we preparing students for the world beyond the classroom?¨ With that in mind, we will shift the focus of instruction during the last two weeks of school to learning real-world skills!
Beginning next week on Monday, May 18th, the final two weeks of our instructional plan will focus on providing activities that support real-world learning. A menu board with a list of activities will be provided and your child will choose four items from the menu board to complete. These activities may be used towards your child’s grade for the last grading period. Students will be asked to complete a survey at the end of each week that informs the campus of the activities completed.
How it works:
A menu board of activities for grades 6-8 will be shared via Google Classroom by each teacher. This menu board will work for both weeks.
Students will complete three menu board challenges during week one (May 18-22).
Students will complete one menu board challenge during week 2 (May 26-28).
Students will provide feedback each week through a Google survey for a total of 2 feedback surveys.
Our hope is that this will be a welcome change of pace that you and your child enjoy. If you have any questions please contact your campus principal.
Thank you again for your continued support and it’s always a great day to be a Wildcat!
