Letter from Superintendent

Posted November 10, 2022

Dear Splendora Community:

Thank you for voting in the November 8th Bond Election. I would like to extend a special note of appreciation to the Community Bond Steering Committee members, who gave their time to create the bond proposal and present it to the SISD Board of Trustees in August. The success of this bond was due to the many parents, staff, and community members that helped share information about the proposal as well as the District’s needs with voters around the community.

While Proposition B failed by a close margin, Proposition A successfully passed, and the items in this Proposition will address our two most pressing needs: growth and aging facilities. As we move forward with these projects, which include: an expansion to the high school; a junior high school; two elementary schools to replace Greenleaf and Peach Creek Elementary Schools; land purchases; and other district improvements, we will keep you informed along the way.

As a district, we will continue to work hard to reach and inform every voter and will seek input and feedback from our community on this bond process and the items included to focus our efforts on continuous improvement.

We look forward to sharing bond updates with you and are committed to being good stewards of your taxpayer dollars. Thank you for your continued support of Splendora ISD and for investing in our children's future.

Sincerely,

Jeff Burke, Ed.D.

Superintendent
