Montgomery County Buyout Program Deadline Approaching

MONTGOMERY COUNTY – The Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management would like to remind the public the deadline to participate in the Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) is November 30, 2022. The Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) is for homeowners who were impacted by the floods in 2016 and Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
This is not a first come- first served program, funds are limited and eligibility must be met to be accepted into the buyout program. If you are interested in a federal buyout of your home due to repetitive flooding, time is running out. Applications and supporting documentation are due no later than November 30, 2022. Applications can be found online at https://www.mctx.org/
Homeowners can submit their applications the following ways: in person at the application center, email application to firstname.lastname@example.org , fax application to 936.523.3910, or deliver application via mail or in-person to 9472 Airport Rd. Conroe, TX 77303.
In an effort to work with individual homeowners on questions, concerns, or completion of their application packet, Application Intake Centers will be held at the following locations:

Homes that were found to be Substantially Damaged by either the county or cities are required to be in compliance with their local floodplain ordinances. Those not participating in the buyout programs and/or are not selected for a buyout and the structure is not brought into compliance the property may be subject to denial of flood insurance under Section 1316 of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 (as amended) or other any other applicable enforcement, violations, or penalties.
