Bull Rider Anderson Competing at World Finals

Posted August 3, 2022

From mutton busting to bull riding, Braxton Anderson is now competing at the 15th Annual Youth Bull Riders World Finals in Abilene. The Piney Woods second grader began the competition today and has two more rounds on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, there will be the Short Go round. This is the final round of the rodeo, where the competitive field is cut to the top 12 for each event. After the end of the Short Go, the rider with the most points wins the event.

The road to Abilene was paved with wins for the young bull rider. This year, he won the West Texas Bull Bash PeeWee Division, the Texas Outlaws Youth Bull Riders 6U Champion of the Southeast Region, and 6U Reserve Champion of the South Region. His parents, Alexis and Mitchell Anderson, are thrilled about their son and said, “We are so proud of his dedication to the sport and his sportsmanship behavior. Win or lose; he’s always a champion in our eyes!”
