New Board Member Appointed
Congratulations, Kim Klepcyk, on your Board appointment! On Monday, June 6th, Kim Klepcyk was appointed to the SISD Board of Trustees, filling the recently vacated spot of Position 1 previously held by Trustee Adam Dietrich. Mr. Dietrich resigned his position on May 16th to pursue other public service opportunities in his field of Family Law. We thank Mr. Dietrich for his time on the board and his commitment to our district and community.
Mrs. Klepcyk will finish Mr. Dietrich's term for the remainder of this year, which will end in November.
We are excited to welcome Mrs. Klepcyk and appreciate her service. Read more about Kim below.
Kimberly Klepcyk is new to Splendora ISD but a seasoned veteran of local public education. Klepcyk retired from a 31-year career in public education in 2021. She currently works part-time with Houston Education Leadership Partners — a group of former public education leaders providing professional development to campus and district leaders in partnership with Rice University. Prior to her work with Leadership Partners, Klepcyk was an educational leader working on behalf of young adults who inspired her. During her secondary and higher education career, Klepcyk was a secondary English teacher, public and school librarian, college instructor, school district administrator, early college high school principal, and college instructional dean. In her most recent former role as the Dean of Academic Partnerships and Initiatives for Lone Star College-Kingwood (LSC-K), Klepcyk supervised partnerships with six independent school districts. She supervised all dual credit programming and four early college high school partnerships and coordinated the Five Star Regional Education Alliance (P-16), supervising the Academic Support Center, campus library, and faculty professional development. In her role with LSC-K, she worked closely with Splendora ISD.
Her work with the people in Splendora influenced her decision to make Splendora home. She has actively participated in Greater East Montgomery County Chamber meetings since 2012. She’s been a supporter and contributor to the Education Foundations for Humble, New Caney, and Splendora ISDs, The Village Centers, and Mission Northeast. Since coming to Splendora, she has been active on the Splendora ISD Education Foundation Board, the Community Bond Steering Committee, and SISD-You. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Texas San Antonio. In 2013, Klepcyk completed the Rice Education Entrepreneurship Program at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. As principal of Quest Early College High School in Humble ISD, Klepcyk successfully transitioned the school from a small high school of choice to an early college high school. During her tenure, the school was honored nationally by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) as the winner of the 2011 Vision in Action: The ASCD Whole Child Award.
Splendora ISD property owners since 2016, Kim and her husband Tom built their retirement home in Northcrest Ranch and moved in permanently in 2021. They are proud parents to three adult children.
