District Improvements/Projects

The Splendora community has kept our facilities a top priority.

Since 1990, Splendora ISD voters have passed five bond elections giving its students and teachers top-notch facilities. During this time, the District has built four new schools and has changed the landscape on FM 2090 west. The junior high (formerly the high school), was built in the early 90s, a new high school was built in 2004, Piney Woods Elementary opened in 2008, and Timber Lakes Elementary will open August 2020. Additionally, other projects were done during this time such as the Career and Technical Education (CTE) building and expansions, agricultural building and expansions, district-wide technology upgrades, additional classrooms at the junior high and high school, an athletic annex, renovations to interior athletic spaces, and an expansion of the high school cafeteria.

The Board also approved over $16 million from fund balance to cover projects not included in the bond issues (football stadium upgrades, parking lot additions, tennis courts, and baseball and softball facilities improvements, an additional wing at the high school to increase campus capacity by 340 students, an addition to the CTE Center, and Peach Creek and Greenleaf Elementary Schools renovations). While some of these projects have been completed, the new wing to the high school, the CTE addition, and renovations at Peach Creek and Greenleaf are underway.

Splendora ISD Board of Trustees and administrators are committed to providing a quality environment for our students and staff and maintaining the community’s trust in how their taxpayer money is spent.
