Heath Lucas, M.Ed.
Heath Lucas is a lifelong resident of Splendora. After graduating Splendora High School in 1985, he attended San Jacinto College and then moved on to Sam Houston State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Academic Studies. He later received his master's degree from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Lucas taught in Tomball and Splendora ISD and has been in education since 2000. He is the proud dad of four wonderful daughters and grandpa to four beautiful grandbabies. He enjoys the outdoors and attends church at First Baptist Plum Grove. He believes in treating every child as if they were his own and believes that every day is a Great Day to be a Wildcat!
Sally Harris, M.Ed.
Sally Harris grew up in Saratoga, California, and attended the University of the Pacific. After graduating with a Bachelor in Liberal Arts, she moved to Texas with her husband. She taught first grade for several years before receiving her Master in Elementary Education with a Reading Specialist Certification at Lamar University. For the next eight years, she was a Reading Interventionist for kindergarten through second grade. Mrs. Harris went on to receive her second Masters in Education with a Principal Certification at Stephen F. Austin University. She has worked in Splendora ISD as an assistant principal since 2005.
Sonya Simpson, M.Ed
Sonya Simpson graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and began teaching at Splendora ISD in 2010. She taught third and fourth-grade bilingual students at Greenleaf Elementary from 2010 to 2019. Mrs. Simpson received a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Instructional Coaching from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2019. She enjoys working with students and teachers and believes every day is an opportunity to learn something new.
Edie Kendrick, M.Ed.
Edie Kendrick has resided in Splendora since 1999. She feels blessed to be the wife of a local police officer and a mom of two beautiful daughters. Mrs. Kendrick graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and later obtained her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She began her career in education with Splendora ISD in 2010 as a substitute teacher. Mrs. Kendrick enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends, and has recently discovered a new excitement in roller coasters! She believes every child is unique, and she has a passion for helping students discover and develop their talents, passions, and interests.
