Duana Brashear, M.Ed.
Duana Sheffield Brashear is proud to serve as the new principal of Splendora Junior High. Mrs. Brashear began her career with Splendora ISD in August 2005, teaching first grade at Greenleaf Elementary. She has since served as the assistant principal and principal at Peach Creek Elementary. Brashear says, “I began my career with Splendora, and it’s an honor to give back to the community that has given me so much. I look forward to serving our students and families in a new capacity.”
Brashear earned both her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Sam Houston State University. In 2020, she also earned her Superintendent Certificate. She is grateful for the opportunities afforded by the district and is dedicated to the district’s mission of “Cultivating Exceptional People” as the Splendora Junior High Principal.
Brashear is married, with two step-children and one daughter. Her daughter, Kylie, will be a senior at Splendora High School in the 2022-2023 school year. Brashear has presented across Texas, engaging audiences in sessions to leverage student learning through high relational capacity. During the 2019-2020, 2020-2021, and 2021-2022 school years, Peach Creek Elementary (PCE) was recognized as a “Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School,” an honor Brashear attributes to the love, passion, and dedication shown by all PCE staff members.
Johnathon Andrews graduated from Splendora High School in 2007. He began his career in education as a paraprofessional at Splendora Junior High in 2009. After graduating from Sam Houston State University in 2013, Andrews started teaching 6th-grade math at Peach Creek Elementary. In 2021, he transferred to Splendora High School as a Math RTI Specialist. In the 2022-2023 school year, Andrews will begin his leadership role as one of the Assistant Principals at Splendora Junior High. He has been married to his wife, Wrigley, since 2018. Together, they share one black lab named Mae, who ironically is afraid of water.
Molly Buford, M.Ed.
Molly Buford began her teaching career in 2003 when she taught 6th-grade ELAR at Splendora Middle School. After teaching for 16 years at SJH, she transitioned into the role of Reading Specialist in 2019, became Instructional Specialist in 2020, and is excited to serve as Assistant Principal. Molly graduated from Lamar University with a Master's Degree in Educational Administration in 2021. She has been married to her husband, Stacy, for 24 years and has two daughters, Morgan and Falon. Morgan graduated from SISD in 2020 and attends Sam Houston State University, while Falon will be a senior at Splendora High School this year!
Kellie Farr, M.Ed.
Kellie Farr has been in education since 2005. She previously worked as an educator for the Texas Historical Commission. She stated that “one of [her] greatest learning experiences” was with a global fellowship where she lived and worked for a summer in Kathmandu, Nepal with native teachers and students, as well as, teachers from around the world. Farr earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Education with Literacy Specialization. She is looking forward to learning and working alongside other educators at Splendora ISD!
Amanda Harris graduated from Lamar University with her bachelor's degree in 2005. She began teaching later that same year at West Orange-Stark CISD. Harris and her family moved to the Splendora area in 2015, where she started teaching at Greenleaf Elementary. In 2018, Harris graduated from Lamar University with her master's in educational leadership. Harris was an instructional coach in Cleveland ISD before deciding to come back home to Splendora ISD. This year she is delighted to be able to support and serve the students at Splendora Junior High. Harris has been married to her husband, Chris, since 2005. They have a daughter, Aubrey, who will be a 7th grader at SJH.
