Rob Davis is a native Wildcat and proud graduate of Splendora High School. He is the great, great-grandson of W. W. and Belle Burrow, one of Splendora's founding families. Splendora's first grocery/dry goods store, built-in 1898, was owned and operated by the Burrows and the original building (pictured to the bottom left) still stands in downtown Splendora today. Pictured are (L to R) Fred Burrow, Dorris Ann, Gladys Burrow, Lessie Burrow Ward (Rob's great grandmother who was three years old when the picture was taken in 1903), and W. W. Burrow. To the right of the store was the Burrow Hotel which was raised after Mr. Burrow's passing in the 1940s. Rob's grandmother, Maxine Davis, ran the store in later years after Fred Burrow retired, and later worked for Archie and Jane Barrilleaux after they purchased the land which housed the newer brick grocery store (which is now the building next door to Archie's Food Basket). His mother Peggy Davis served as Splendora's first City Secretary, serving for 39 years until her retirement. Rob enjoys spending time with his son Alex, a Splendora graduate, and grand-dog Brody. Rob received his Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Sam Houston State University, his Master's degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University in Austin, and on December 2018 received his Doctorate in Literacy at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.
According to Rob, the students and staff at Greenleaf are a joy to work with, and it is always a great day to be a Wildcat!
