How do I request a district chromebook and/or hotspot?
Contact one of your child's teachers. The Technology Department will contact you as soon as possible to schedule pickup or delivery of the device.

My child is signed up for remote learning and cellular hotspot is not dependable in our area, what are my options?
Contact your child’s campus to inform them of the need for a paper packet and to make arrangements for pickup.

How do I get my child’s login information for Canvas?
Canvas can only be accessed through your child’s Classlink page by logging into Classlink and clicking on the Canvas Icon.

If my child is using a district device, how do they login to Classlink?
If your child is using a district provided Chromebook, you should have received a Classlink Quick Card, similar to a QR code. This will log them into their Chromebook and Classlink simultaneously.

If my child is using their own device, how do they login to Classlink?
The username is firstname.lastname.last2digitsofgraduationyear see example (willie.wildcat.23).
Elementary students password is their student ID # (lunch number) to login. Secondary students can change their password and if they forget the information, they must contact any of their teachers.
Students new to the district with a district device, will log into Classlink with their QR code card. If the new student is using a personal device, they need to contact their teacher.
If they are using a personal device, they can access Classlink on our district website by mousing over the “Students” dropdown menu and selecting Classlink login. You can also click this link www.launchpad.classlink.com/splendora

How do I get a new QR code if the one I have is lost or damaged?

As a parent, how do I view my child’s Canvas account?
Step One: Go to https://splendoraisd.instructure.com/
Step Two: Click on the parent self-enrollment link.
Step Three: In a new screen, have your student login to their Canvas account by first logging into Classlink and then clicking the Canvas Icon.
Step Four: Click the “Account Link” in the top left corner, then click the Settings link. Once on the settings page, click the “Pair With Observer” button. This will produce a code. Copy this Pairing code.
Step Five: Go back to the Parent Account set up Page. Complete all the required fields and paste the Pairing Code into the Pairing Code box. Make sure you write down your username and password for safe keeping.

My child has forgotten or does not know his password to access Classlink. How do I get it?

How do I get help while I’m working in Canvas?
The course teacher is the primary contact when you need help.

How do I ask my teacher a question while I’m working in Canvas?
There is a Help icon on the left side of the page. When you click this icon, a menu pops up with multiple options. Select “Ask Your Instructor a Question”. From here select what course you have a question about and then type your message. Click the blue “Send Message” button and you are done.

Other than the teacher, are there other resources available to help me with Canvas?
There is a Help icon on the left side of the page. When you click this icon, a menu pops up with the options listed below:
- “Search Canvas Guides” This is a searchable collection of guides on a variety of topics.
- “Ask Your Instructor a Question” This is where questions are submitted to your instructor.
- “Report a Problem” This option is to report a technical issue directly to Canvas not Splendora ISD Technology Department.
- “Submit a Feature Idea” You can share an idea directly to Canvas to help them improve their topic.
“Show Welcome Tour” This is an overview of Canvas and its features.

How does my child access his or her courses in Canvas?
Active courses will be on the Dashboard. This is the first page a student sees when they open Canvas. Simply click on a course to open it.

Is there a tutorial for students and/or parents for accessing Canvas?
The district has created both written and video guidelines on how to get into Canvas.
