Free and Reduced Meals

Media Release for Seamless Summer Option Free Meals in School Year 2021-2022

Splendora Independent School District will be offering healthy meals for breakfast and lunch every school day to all students at no cost. Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-priced meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year. Each school/site or central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed upon request.

While no application or eligibility determination process is required for your student to receive free meals this school year, the income eligibility requirement will likely resume in the 2022-2023 school year.

Although an application for Child Nutrition will not be required this year, please be sure to fill out the Social-Economic Income Survey when completing your annual update for returning students that the district has available in Family Access.  Filling out this survey will help establish the level of funding for many of the programs offered within the district. The 2021-2022 online registration for new students and annual updates for current students will open on July 26, 2021.
