A great website to help with ALL sight word lists Go to www.abcya.com, click on K and in the first group of games, click on sight word bingo. You can choose the list your child is on. This is a great help and the kids seem to really like it! AWESOME alphabet video on youtube for those that need the extra help!!! Check out this great website!!! ***********************New************************* November 7 I have uploaded 2 different sight word slide shows to the classroom News section. Once your child receives a 100 on the first 25 words, you have/will receive the entire list of words. If your child received a Pre-Primer Dolch list they will click on that slide show. It has words and phrases. So many of the kids were doing so well each week I decided to release the entire list so I was not holding them back. October 31 I hope everyone is having a great Halloween!! I have uploaded the homework for this week and the new slideshow to show the new words to, he, and We will resume our testing this Friday, November 4. October 14 We had 14 perfect scores on this weeks sight word test (out of 19 students) :) That is so amazing and I am so proud!!! I have uploaded the homework and sight word slide show for next week (adding sight words orange, was, his for test #6) September 26 Homework for week 6 is uploaded and the sight word slideshow that reflects this weeks words is updated. Our letters this week are Aa and Ss. Practice counting to 30 and recognizing numbers 1-30 (out of order and by sight). Talk about words that begin and end with these two letters. We are starting patterns this week in math and starting light and sound in science. Higher level learners- Practice writing numbers 1-30(out of order) -if mastered, count by 10's to 100. Recognize beginning and ending sounds in words. Have your child write simple sight word sentences like: I like you. We can go. My cat is blue. (have them sound out c/a/t and spell on their own. other easy to spell words can be substituted, dog, pot, mat, pit, bat, and so on. Talk about spacing, periods, Capital letters. We do this in class everyday, they should be able to tell you about what a sentence needs to be happy :) September 19 Homework has been uploaded for week 5 Our new letter of the week is Ii, we do not have a star of the week because no one picked Ii but no worries, we will be doing some fun activities anyway :) Practice counting to 30 and writing numbers 1-10. Sight Word test over your 8 flashcards September 23 the red can go I you we my September 11 We are counting to 20 and learning all about the letter Mm this week!! I have uploaded week 4 homework to the Classroom News section I have also uploaded a sight word slide show you can use at home to help study :). It is under the Classroom News portion also. (I will update that slideshow every week with the new added words so please check back) September 8 I have added the first list of sight word flashcards to the Classroom Section of the webpage for easy printing if needed. I will be sending home bigger flashcards on a ring today in the same envelope. (After I thought about it, I felt the other set was too small) :) September 2 I have uploaded week 3 homework to the Classroom News tab. Please do not get to far ahead. I will be putting a hard copy in your child's folder on Tuesday. I have also been doing assessments on each student, you will get a copy of that next week. I hope everyone has a wonderful 3 day weekend!! August 29 Homework has been attached to the "Classroom News" Section for this week. There is also a hard copy in your childs folder. I have also attached a copy of the "At home references" August 23 Fall pictures are scheduled for September 13. I will be sending home more information as I receive it. August 22 Welcome!! The first few weeks of Kindergarten will consist of getting to know one another, school rules and procedures and assessing each child to better understand their individual needs and abilities. Please see the "Classroom News" for our current daily schedule. Homework will start the 2nd week of school. I will send it home on Mondays and upload it to the "homework" tab of the webpage to print. Until then, please practice letters/sounds and counting to 20. We will cover the letter Mm week 4 and Aa week 5. Higher Level Learners I will put a "higher level learner" for every week. Please do not push your child to cover this section until they have completely mastered that weeks requirements. It will be under the "homework" tab. Review Letters by sight and have your child tell you a word that begins with that letter. Have them point out letters in books/newspapers/magazines. I have uploaded a copy of the Welcome letter to the "Classroom News" tab. Uploaded files will always appear at the bottom of the page for you to download. Our daily schedule is also located in that section of the webpage. Pictures will slowly be posted to the Slideshow Portion of the webpage. I will be adding pictures as I have time. Please enjoy! Below is a list of the favorites: Please send snacks that can be stored at room temperature *Gold Fish *Crackers *Popcorn *Pretzels *Fruit *Apple Sauce *Fruit Snacks *String Cheese *Animal CrackersPlease do not throw away your old magazines . Send them to class! Also, please send in all cereal boxes and egg cartons for Art Class. Box Tops For Education ! We are collecting boxtops for education! Parents, please see the associated link for a list of all products that have Box Tops For Education labels you can cut out and send to school wi!th your child. Click here for a complete list of Box Top For Education Supporters ** We go to P.E. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Please make sure the kids are all wearing tennis shoes on these days!! ** We go to Library every Thursday - Please help your child make sure that their library books are in their back pack, and returned to school. Thanks for all your help with this. Also, if you want to come to class and help your child take a Reading Counts test on their library book, please feel free to do so before school between 7:45-8:30 or between 3:30-4:00 daily.
