Welcome to 6th grade Social Studies! BRING YOUR PHOTO ID AND PASSPORTS... FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS AND PREPARE FOR TAKE OFF... CHANGES HAVE ARRIVED!! Splendora ISD has launched a new program in the district called BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology)! I am the teacher on the PCE campus that will be implementing the program in my classroom first this year. As I am sure you have heard from your student, we will be using Kindle Fires in my classroom starting in the month of January. A Kindle Fire is a small tablet that will allow students to research online and create online projects in my classroom. I cannot tell you how excited the students are for this change, and in turn, how excited I am as well! We will continue to tackle our world travels, although will now be incorporting a bit of technological fun into class as well to enhance their knowledge of social studies. I am positive that this will be a wonderful opportunity for my students!
In our classroom we are going to be traveling throughout the world and learning about the history, geography and culture of many different countries.
