On February 8, the Board held a Public Hearing, adopted a Resolution to Consider Designation as District of Innovation, and appointed a District Advisory Committee (DAC).
On February 9, the DAC reviewed exemptions and drafted a District of Innovation Plan. The following week, the DAC and District Educational Improvement Council reviewed the plan and voted to move forward.
The DOI Plan was sent to the Texas Education Agency Commissioner for review and posted to the website on February 16. On February 21, clarifications were provided from TEA on the exemption for teacher certifications and minor revisions were made. The DOI Plan was reposted with these markups.
A final plan was presented and approved by the Board of Trustees on March 20. The final plan replaced the marked-up version on the website and was sent to the TEA Commissioner on March 22.
