Library Mission Statement
The mission of the Splendora ISD Libraries is to nuture a lifelong appreciation of reading and learning by assuring that students and staff can access, evaluate, and use ideas and information effectively.
Library Policies
1. Who may check-out materials?
· students
· parents/guardians
· faculty/staff
· community volunteers
2. Setting up user for check-out
· Parents and community volunteers can come by the library and ask the librarian to set up an account for you.
3. Loan Period
· students and parents - 1 week
· teachers - semester
4. Check-out Limits
· students:
o Kindergarten – 1st grade 1 book
o 2nd - 6th - 2 books
· parents - no more than 10 items
· teachers - no limits
5. Renewals
· one renewal - allowed without permission
6. User blocked from check-out
· The automated check-out system will block a user from checking-out materials for the following reasons.
o overdue materials
o exceeding check-out limit
o unpaid bill
7. Fees
· lost or damaged materials: price of item
· minor damages: no charge
· no late fees
8. Fines
· none
9. Refunds
· Lost/paid items will be refunded if the item is later found and returned to the library within six months of being paid for.
